DESCRIPTION:Succulent with sturdy stems and obovate, scalloped green leaves with a dark rim. Its flowers appear several times during the year, at the top of long stems and look like small bells in soft colors, hence once of its many names.  It can reach up to one meter.

HABITAT:Hummocks, waste places, residential gardens and homes
GEOGRAPHIC DISTRIBUTION:Tropical and subtropical regions of the Americas, Europe, Africa, Hawaiian islands, New Zealand, Australia, Melanesia, Polynesia
CULTIVATION:Temperatures above 10 degrees C; well-drained soil, indirect and direct sun light.  Grows well indoors and indoors. This is a plant that can easily be cultivated as many plants can grow from one of its fallen leaves; hence its name Mother of Thousands.
HARVESTING GUIDELINES:When plant is healthy,  before flowering phase, if possible during full moon; early morning.

PREPARATIONS: Raw leaves, succus, infusion, poultice
DOSAGE: Not recommended for long-term use.  Use strictly as indicated for each preparation.  Overdose could be lethal due to some of its components.
SAFETY: As with anything else, if you are taking other medicine consult with your physician before using it.  Its use is not recommended if you are pregnant or breastfeeding nor for infants.
TASTE: Sour, somewhat bitter, astringent
