STEP BY STEP
Herb infused oils (hot oil extraction) for your ointments:
- You will need:
- Small crock pot
- 1 cups of fresh, finely chopped herbs of your choice
- Olive oil (about 1 to 1.5 cups)
- Sieve
- Cheese cloth
- One sterilized glass jar
- 4 to 8 hours of patience
What you need to do:
- Put your crock pot on low
- Add chopped herbs
- Cover with oil – just about
- Leave pot uncovered to eliminate the moisture of the fresh herbs
- Raise the temperature until the mixture starts bubbling, then lower again
- Let it simmer and stir frequently until the herbs are crispy
- Let it cool
- Put the colander on the jar and the cheese cloth on top
- Pour the oil with the herbs
- Close tightly
